Horizontal Directional Drill underneath the Port of Long Beach Shipping Channel. A 54" Horizontal Directional Drill was performed while pipelines were being assembled and tested. The 18" natural gas and 20" potable water pipes were then bundled and pulled through the tunnel below harbor. Maximum tunnel depth is 150 feet at midpoint of shipping channel.
